Tribal Arm Tattoos

Tribal Arm Tattoos
A lot of marines down at Camp Pendleton have tribal arm tattoos, that’s because the Marines are almost like a tribe of sorts. Some of the marines will mix and match some of their tattoos with marine sayings, but most still have the original tribal arm tattoos that got started with a couple of movies that came out in the late 80’s. When Mike Tyson did his face tattoo it really started people checking out a lot of the newer tribal arm tattoos that you see today. It goes all the way to the guys in wrestling that get pumped up and spread their wings to let their tribal arm tattoos get shown to the whole world during a televised WWF wrestling match.

I bet if you really take a close look at Gunny in the movie Heartbreak Ridge you will see some sort of tattoo on his arm or shoulder. Now that might have been Clint Eastwood in the movie, but I bet his advisor was a real gunny officer from the Marines, and ten to one, he had some tribal arm tattoos. You never know, Clint Eastwood might even have one. Some people like to show them off, others like to keep them covered until they want people to see them. To each there own is my motto.

Tribal Arm Tattoos
This just might be the very first of the tribal arm tattoos that I have seen with any other color in it but black. This one has red in it of course. A very sharp, stand out red too. One that nobody would miss. I already know that tribal arm tattoos were used largely to recognize different types of warriors and be able to do so at a moments notice. So this one, with its bright red color mixed in, makes me think that the person who would have worn such a tattoo, many years ago in a real tribal situation, most likely was the equivalent of some sort of officer. A leader of a certain amount of these warriors, so to speak. It certainly makes sense to me. Nearly every warring people or nation throughout history recognized the importance of having officers who led their men into battle and helped to keep them organized once in the heat of the battle. And the tribal peoples were in fact very well known for their fighting skills. So why not have tribal arm tattoos that told all the men such thing? But one never knows if this guy, looking to get tribal arm tattoos. just walked into a tattoo place and said lets change this up and put some red into it. It could easily be.
