Lip Tattoos

Lip Tattoos
Lip tattoos are tattoos applied to the inner portion of the lip (most commonly the bottom lip, although the inner upper lip is also worked on). This particular tattoo placement can be applied often to exploit the lack of visibility, the bearer placing work on the inner lip that they simply do not want to advertise. Of course, this is not the only reason for it. It can be a point of pride for the bearer to have work in such an unusual location, particularly one so obviously awkward. Imagine spending a few days of your life with the inside of your lip healing. Those of us with ink work know that particular feeling and having it inside your mouth certainly cannot be a pleasant experience. Along with the sensation of healing, the flavor of blood and ink would be undoubtedly unpleasant. As with any piece, these inner lip tattoos have a list of pros and cons. One major drawback to these inner lip tattoos is that they have a tendency to fade. Though sometimes the tattoo will work fine with the first application, more often than not one if not several touchups are required over a period of time. The major pro of this kind of tattoo is that the ink work can be hidden until the person reveals it.
Lip Tattoos
Lip tattoos are cool but you should know that there are going to be a few problems in getting and maintaining one of the esoteric designs. If you are planning to get an inner lip tattoo, it is important for you to know that you will need to rinse about five times a day with an alcohol-free, antibacterial mouthwash. This is not necessarily a good thing or a bad thing, it simply is what you are going to need to do if you plan to get a lip tattoo. Another factor to consider is that one of the biggest problems with inner lip tattoos is that they are known to fade very quickly. Nearly half of all inner lip tattoos will fade within a year and some may fade even sooner than that. There is a good chance that if you choose to get an inner lip tattoo, it will only be temporary and if you wish to keep it, you will need to continue getting it touched up. And the cost of getting a lip tattoo may be higher then a normal tattoo, and many artist refuse to do these tattoos altogether. These are just a few things that you have to keep in mind.
